PATIENT HISTORY
John refuses to go by any other name than John Smith, it's the only name he knows. Raised by a man named Henri, his entire childhood was nothing more than moving around from town to town, country to country. He knew that there was a reason and Henri, whom he called his Cêpan, would remind him that it was because they were always trying to stay one step ahead of the Mogadorians, or Mogs as John began to call them because the name was too long and complicated.
All he knew was that he was a Loric, or so Henri would tell him, one of the last members of the Garde that were sent to Earth before the destruction of Lorien. To many this entire story might sound crazy, but to John it is his history. He learned to be a survivalist of sorts, although he relied on Henri for the minor things like housing. He developed skills to pick pocket and steal. Right and wrong never made much sense for him when he lived all his life on the run.
Things began to get even more complicated after reaching Paradise, Ohio. That was when his world began to change. After almost revealing himself in his old town, Henri moved them to the middle of nowhere in Ohio. New school, new him. Only thing that remained was being John Smith. He attempted to make new friends, but things fell apart, as they always do.
Men came in, to John they were the Mogadorians. Creatures that wanted to take kill him so they could move on to the next person in line, a kid Henri called Number Five. There were Ten of them in total, seven if you didn't count the three that had already been killed. With the aid of a girl who called herself Six, John managed to escape from the Mogs. With his friend Sam, Six, and his dog Bernie (not that one would actually call a Loric Chimæra a dog, but that's minor details), John sets out to try and locate the other members of the Garde. All the while, the Mogs are right on their trail.
The events that took place in Paradise, from the fire to the destruction of the school, pretty much made John and Six wanted criminals. They involved Sam, who was pretty good at helping them stay hidden. But the worst idea was to open his chest, one that Henri had always kept safe prior to his death. Not only did it alert the Mogs to where they were, it forced them to move again. A letter that had been in there, led them back to Paradise. He wanted to find Sarah once they were back, but should have known it was a trap and he was captured by the FBI. Prison in Washington D.C. was the last place he wanted to be. However, Six helps him escape when the Mogs attacked the prison.
They manage to actually locate nine, but in the process he lost Sam to the Mogs. Stuck with the boy who called himself nine, and called him four, was not a pleasurable experience as they were complete opposites. He worried about Sam, worried about Six, and just wanted things to return to how they used to be. After a "vision" about needing to be in New Mexico, him and Nine set off there.
What awaited them was Setrakus Ra, the leader of the Mogs. However, lucky enough, the other members of the Garde also managed to arrive, alerting them that six was actually in Setrakus Ra's possession. After finding Sarah in his prison, they managed to rescue six and escape.
It was a message that was left to them by the missing Number Five that had them heading to Arkansas. After meeting five, and a fight with the Mogs, the group returned to safety. However, John fell into a coma. He awoke in a strange place, Eichen House. The strange thing was that his powers didn't work.
Thinking this is just another Mogadorian prison, John is waiting for the others to find him. It would only be a matter of time, right?

PRESENTS WITH
Having been raised by a strange man, John believes that he has a prophecy to fulfill. That he is a Loric Garde from a planet called Lorien that was destroyed by a race called the Mogadorians. He claims he has special abilities, which he calls legacies, that include lumen, animal telepathy, precognition, healing, telekinesis, and enhanced strength, speed, reflexes, endurance, and durability.
Having destroyed several buildings and escaped from a federal prison, it was thought best to place John where there was slim chance his friends would find him.
